But don't be fooled - we are very serious about our wine and are extremly focused on our mission of creating wines that showcase the ideal grape growing conditions of Santa Barbara County! Founded in 1996 by financier Bill Foley, Lincourt is a producer of ultra premium wines from the Santa Maria and Santa Ynez Valleys. A long time wine enthusiast, Bill has been particularly entranced with wines of Burgundy. In 1994, when he and his wife Carol relocated their family to Santa Barbara, he discovered that the potential to produce some of America's most distinguished versions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lay just miles north of his home. Bill hired renowned winemaker Alan Phillips to assist him in securing vineyard sites and spearheading his dream of producing the benchmark wines of the region. Bill and Carol named their new winery Lincourt, in homage to their two daughters, Lindsay and Courtney. |
